16th Annual Monaco Private Label Summit

Institut Océanographique

Description

Founded in 1906 by Prince Albert Ier of Monaco, the Oceanographic Institute is a foundation dedicated to the understanding, the presentation and the preservation of marine biodiversity and environment, with a leading role in worldwide public awareness, thanks to the work of our 150 employees and the support of our volunteers. At the Oceanographic Institute, we believe that the Ocean is one; that it is global and that it unites the entire world: Mankind and all other Species, and Human Beings with each other. Mankind with itself, its past, its present and its future. We want to show that everything brings us closer together and that both our history and our future are intrinsically linked, on our blue planet. Drawing on this union, our mission is to reveal, pass on and enhance this strong, essential bond: a bond that is timeless and universal. For this purpose, the Institute has two historic institutions: the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco and the Maison de l’Océan in Paris, thus contributing to its international outreach. And indeed, its power of attraction is unfailing: with 650, 000 visitors in 2019, the Museum of Monaco is considered one of the most visited scientific sites in Western Europe. We also host many events for all types of publics (250 events hosted on our premises in 2019) and a community of 150 000 followers.
