FAMM & The Levett Collection
Description
FAMM (Femmes Artistes du Musée de Mougins) is the first private museum in Europe entirely dedicated to women artists, opened its doors in June 2024 in Mougins, near Cannes.
Nearly 100 works are displayed, all from the Levett Collection, created exclusively by leading female artists (almost 90 from around the world), spanning from Impressionism to contemporary art. Among them are Berthe Morisot, Mary Cassatt, Leonora Carrington, Joan Mitchell, Lee Krasner, Alice Neel, Marina Abramović, Frida Kahlo, Tracey Emin, Jenny Saville, and Sarah Lucas, to name just a few.
The project is led by Christian Levett, an art collector, philanthropist, for nearly thirty years, renowned for his extensive collection of nearly 2000 artworks including 600 created by women only.
